My heartbeat goes out to the ladies who are called out into the divine assignment of being married to a pastor. We all need a ‘safe place’ to log into where someone is always there to give a helping hand. The Pastor’s wife has been ignored, abused, molested and disgraced from generation to generation. No one seems to understand her and her role. Yet our God is a God of purpose. A woman is brought to a man as the case with Eve to help. She is help to the purposes of God in all aspect; at home, in the church, in the society and in the world at large. Purpose has been misplaced, hence different stories we hear all over the world about the minister and his wife.
Over the years, many have suffered in loneliness and isolation going through issues they did not know who talk to and how to handle. I also know importance of connecting with other sisters who can encourage me, pray for me, and yes, even cry with me.
Yet, as a Senior Pastor's wife I have learned the importance of choosing wisely those who I invite into my private world. The Elect Ladies Forum is a Safe Place designed for all pastors' wives and all women married to a minister in the 5-fold ministry in mind.
Woman, it is not a mistake that you are married to a pastor. It has been predestined before the world began. You have been called to stand by that man in the work of the ministry for a purpose. God saw many others, but He chose you. We did not choose Him, He chose and ordained us. (John 15:16)(Hebrews 5:4)(Romans 2:29-30) This is not a vocation; it is more than a career. It is life!
Here, you can chat with other pastors' wives who share like joys and challenges by nature of our role in the church. By joining in, you can get connected with other sisters from around the country who can relate to your unique challenges and joys. There is no need to feel out of place, out of life and out of purpose.
To be a Pastor’s wife is not just a title. Though it is a privilege, we cannot make light of it. It is of course more than an appellation. It is a calling that when answered must be fulfilled. It must be proved and therefore must be accounted for. “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise… that no flesh should glory in His presence. (1 Corinthians 1:26-30)
